BallenIsles Country Club was originally conceived as the home golfing facility of the PGA of America. Designed and developed by the PGA in partnership with John D. MacArthur, BallenIsles opened up in 1964 as the PGA National Golf Club and from 1964-1973 was the sight of the PGA Q School.
BallenIsles offers three championship courses and were designed by two of the most highly respected golf course architects in the world, Dick Wilson and Joe Lee.
The par 72 East Course spans for than 7,000 yards from the farthest tees and is where future PGA tour professionals qualified including Tom Watson and Bruce Fleischer. Some of the biggest names in the golf world have played on the East Course, from Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus to Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer. The East Course went under a major renovation in 2008 and was re-designed by world-renowned architect Keith Foster.
The North Course first opened in 1964 as a 9 hole course but Joe Lee built the back nine in 1969 making it a par 72 course with a length of 6,768 yards from the back tees. The North Course was renovated in 1994 and winds among lakes and nature preserves.
The South Course also opened in 1964 as a 9 hole course and was expanded to 18 holes by Lee in 1970. In 2000 the South Course was completely redesigned by Gene Bates. The par 72 course is a favorite of the members for its challenging but fair layout that rewards strategy and accuracy. It allows the thinking golfer opportunities to level the playing field against the big hitters.
BallenIsles also offers a world class golf practice facility featuring a driving range, chipping green, putting green, and practice bunkers and the BallenIsles golf academy.
On top of the three golf courses, BallenIsles offers the #1 ranked tennis facilities in the USA, a top of the line fitness center and sports complex including sauna and steam rooms and a resort style pool, as well as a full service spa and salon.
In addition to all that is offered on the property, BallenIsles participates in the Troon Prive member program, allowing members to enjoy their privileges even when traveling. Members will receive special reciprocal privileges and preferred pricing at participating country clubs.
